I have some goals for the year but what I want to say is about today. I did "Grace" today. It's not my first time so I had the scars she had inflicted on my mind from the last time and the time before to keep me company as I waited for John to say 3-2-1 Go! However today I had a plan as I stepped into the arena with her. I had made up my mind to stick to my strategy no matter how bad she tried to kick my ass. I wasn't going to listen to the voices she has the ability to summon in me that say, "Stop!" "Quit!" "Give Up!" My strategy was simple on paper; Do the first 15 reps unbroken and then switch to singles but no matter what, don't quit lifting the bar off the frickin' ground. My form may have been imperfect and my execution may have been flawed, but you know what? My strategy was perfect. In the end she's still a bitch but today I showed her I'm a little more of a man than I was the last time we danced. I think the next time we hook up she's the one who will have the butterflies because it would appear that my mom didn't raise a quitter. I'm 55. What's your excuse?
